IN the Premier Division of the Runcorn Sunday League Burma Star defeated champions Cherry Sutton with the odd goal in seven winning 4-3. Goals from Vaughan 2, Lewis and the winner from Waller.
Bridge Timber had a goal each from Flood and Mottram but these proved not enough as Old Transporter took the points winning 2-7. Castle had a double each for Boady and Dwyer in their 4-2 win over Bridgewater. Norton Arms claimed their second win defeating Wellie 1-3 away from home.
In the First Division, Golden Wonder defeated Weston Point Seniors 4-0 with goals from Burton, Mason, Yearsley and Walsh. Union Tavern also recorded four as they defeated Thatto Heath Railway 4-1. High Leigh had goals from Jones, Morris and Hughes as they defeated Waterloo 3-2. Red Admiral had a hat-trick from Fox in their 0-3 away win over Simms Cross. Hough Green and Travellers Rest shared the goals and the points as the game ended 3-3.
It was seventh heaven for Roosters in the Second Division as they defeated Trebla with a hat-trick from Nolan and one apiece for Hodson, Hall, Brimlow and Ward. Halfway Runcorn had four from Fox and one for Dundon in their 5-1 win over Forresters. High Leigh Reserves had a double from McGibbon and one each for Shannon and Robinson as they defeated Railway 4-2, Thornhill and Baker replying for the home side.
Canalside Athletic had a double strike from Verdin as they came out Victors 2-0 against Golden Wonder Reserves. Pipe & Gannex continue their good start after defeating Riverside 4-2 despite goals from Smith and Gott for the losers
