Newton 3
Mond Rangers 4
COASTING at 3-0 with 30 mins remaining, Mond suddenly panicked and ex-Tranmere Rovers star Steve Graven grabbed a ten minute hat-trick to put Newton firmly in the driving seat.
Mond's first came in the 12th minute after a brilliant one-two between Wood and Thomas which resulted in a far post cross from Wood which Richie Jones headed home.
In the opening minute of the second-half they made it two when Jones caused havoc in the home defence and Ian Mackrell stabbed the ball home at the far post. When Karl Thomas struck a 25-yard free-kick in off the crossbar in the 60th minute it looked all over.
Then old war horse Craven struck home a penalty following a foul by Mackrell, then headed home two crosses to equalise after 75 mins. Mond responded superbly and when Iddon crossed, he found Jones on the near post to head the winner into the top corner. Mom, Robbie Wood.
UPTON took the lead when Johnson went through on goal and evaded two tackles to hit a shot that took a wicked deflection into the net.
Maxwell placed a good ball inside the full-back for Paul Dwyer to hammer home just before half-time.
In the 55th minute a glorious pass by Simon Worthington found Dwyer who hit a tremendous half volley into the roof of the net.
The goal of the game followed with a move involving seven players. Again the final ball from Maxwell set up a fine strike from Worthington to seal victory. Mom, Paul Dwyer.
WINSFORD took the lead in the 7th minute when Hines scored, but Richard Flaherty equalised before the interval when he rounded the keeper to roll the ball into the empty net.
Paul Matchet and Peter Threlfall were in fine form in midfield and Mond possessed in Flaherty the difference between the two sides. He hit the post twice in the last 10 minutes as Mond threatened to secure the maximum points. New signings Mark Dumbill and Andrew Bellfield both from Runcorn acquitted themselves well in the Mond defence.
