Halton Boro' Girls u12's 2
Crosby 3
HALTON, despite being at a height disadvantage, can feel aggrieved not to have won this encounter comfortably with their display of incisive football.
It was rather fitting than that Haltons's double goal scorer Natalie Brady, and mom Kelly Jones, should be two of the smallest players on the pitch.
Natalie, making her debut, brought her side level on two occasions. She had tormented the opposition throughout and her brace was scant reward for the chances she had.
Her first owed much to the determination and vision of Vicky Jones who fought for possession before sending a defence-splitting ball through for Natalie to draw the last defender and stick the ball home from close range. Her second was a great individual effort. Cutting in from the right, beating two defenders and rifling a shot across the Crosby keeper into the far corner.
Kelly produced another excellent display and was the driving force throughout. The Halton midfield of Lucy Osborne and Vicky ran the game throughout. At the back Emma Kirby was outstanding once again and she is showing great composure and use of the ball under pressure. Special mention must also got to Helen Snee who produced another accomplished display.
Newcomers Anna Jenkins and Amy Moore, who have been thrown in at the deep end in recent weeks, have also given there all to the cause, and will be better players for the experience.
