Halton Boro' Girls u10's 1
Liverpool Feds u10's 3
THE FEDS managed three first-half goals despite some good goal-keeping from Halton keeper Joanne Lunt.
Halton came back at them creating several good chances, with captain Nikki Murray hitting the post and mom Nessie Whitley going close on several occasions.
In the second-half Halton lay siege to the Feds goal and Whitley out-paced the Feds defence and slotted the ball Owen-like past the keeper.
Halton continued to battle on without further reward with Carly Quick covering every blade of grass on the pitch and making some great tackles. Sarah Lunt also made some good runs up front with Roxanne Brennan tackling like a demon in defence. New girl Dawn Yale making her first appearance for the team was also impressive.
The spirit of the team was excellent throughout but special mention must go to Danielle Watson, Dawn Yale and Whitley who all received bad knocks during the course of the game but refused to leave the pitch so they could carry on helping their team mates.
