ICI has been showing off its environmental improvement works at a special event.

Visitors from as far afield as India and Brazil were given a tour of the company.

ICI's technical director Mike Cooke said: "Many measures have been taken, both voluntarily and in line with changing legislation, to bring about environmental improvements and an example of this is our successful achievement over the past 10 years of a 90 per cent reduction of mercury emissions from our site.

"We will achieve further improvements in our environmental performance, we will continue to be a responsible member of the community and we will continue to give the environment te priority it deserves," added Mr Cooke.
