FLAMBOYANT former Manchester United manager Ron Atkinson will be passing on some of his Premiership experience and advice to Winsford and Middlewich firms next week.
Big Ron will be the guest speaker at an event organised by Middlewich-based South & East Cheshire TEC, taking place at Crewe Hall, Crewe, on Wednesday, September 23.
He will stress the importance of teamwork and point out the parallels between business and football. He will also talk about the role of leaders and managers, and how to reward a winning team and motivate a losing one.
The event which has been called 'Gimme 5' is aimed at the 290 organisations in the area who are committed to Investors in People.
IIP is a national standard award, accepted throughout Great Britain, which commits businesses to the development of their employees through training.
The organisations which hold the award range from small, owner-managed businesses to large, publicly-owned companies.
WH Smith, Rolls Royce, Kwik-fit and Manchester International Airport are are among the many well-known companies in the region who are recognised as Investors in People.
The organisations attending the event will be represented by up to five people, who will take part in activity-based workshops covering leadership, communication and motivation.
