FISH continue to provide anglers on Lymm Angling Club waters with fine sport.
The Bollin and Wincham Brook are performing particularly well at present.
Grayling are the dominant species in Wincham, which is pleasing following last month's pollution scare.
The River Severn at Atcham presented brisk sport for Tom Casey, Dave Shard and Eunice Sharpe throughout the night on Friday.
Tom pointed out that despite the river being up a metre on their arrival and continuing to rise another metre during the night, it fished very well with non-stop barbel action. Dave managed fish of the session with a barbel of 10.5lb.
Lymm Dam has shone for carp anglers over the last week.
Dedicated carper, Neil Fox, has had two sessions which any angler would be proud of.
Fishing boilie made to his own recipe, Neil landed 10 fish to 24lbs on one of his sessions, calculating his total catch weight to over 120lbs. He was fishing near the road on the Baycliffe side.
Skimmers, roach, perch and rudd are accommodating pleasure anglers on the dam with plenty of action from bigger fish, including bream, pike and tench.
After quiet spells at the beginning of the week, both Village and Statham Pools have bounced back to their usual good form.
Whitley Pool's form remains good with big bags landed all around the water.
Grimsditch Pool appears to have got over the worst of its problems with the oxygen level now reasonable. A temporary ground bait has been imposed as a precautionary measure.
We are still awaiting results of tests conducted by the Environment Agency. Meanwhile, the fishing is good with skimmers and rudd putting in a strong account of themselves.
New, Spring, Founders, Mossbank, Fingerpost, Woodside, Willow, Oak, Belmont and Sandy Pools continue their good form, as does Monks Moat.
The vigorous carp in Belmont Pool also remain an attraction to those who have enjoyed the action provided here from day one of the season.
Abbey Lake produces good roach week in, week out. Although tench, bream and pike have made their presence felt, it's the roach that make this water what it is.
Come rain or shine, summer or winter, these fish can be relied upon to provide good sport and they average 8ozs.
Congratulations to our senior match group who did enough to stay in Division One of the National Federation of Anglers on Saturday. Also congratulations to Fred Moss who won the final of the Angling Club Insurance Championship, fished on the Sankey Canal on Sunday.
