Vale Royal Council for Voluntary Services has run a car scheme for more than 25 years to help people make journeys they would otherwise be unable to.
The CVS and passengers pay an allowance to drivers to cover their fuel costs, but they do not get paid.
Transport co-ordinator Caroline Twiggs said: "People have come to depend on it as a way of maintaining contact with family and friends, or even just having a hair do."
And Cheshire's Community Partners have secured funding for a similar project - to help those with special needs or people who have difficulties getting to a clinic, hospital or doctor's appointment.
You would also be needed to help the patient find the right department and maybe arrange follow-up appointments.
Can you help either organisation? Ring Caroline Twiggs at the CVS on 01606 49075 or Community Partners on 01606 46438.
