The Weaver Valley Cycleway Draft Business Plan can be seen at the Information Centre in The Arcade, Northwich, for the next three weeks.

The idea was first pedalled by Vale Royal Borough Council in 1989, but it really got into gear in 1992, when Groundwork got involved.

The first phase, in Winsford, was completed two years ago.

Now, planners hope to extend the route to create 9.5km of cycleways and pedestrian routes running directly into Weir Street, Northwich.

Groundwork has raised more than £100,000 of public and private money for phase two, while the council's Leisure and Community Partnerships Committee has pledged £30,000 towards a stretch of cycleway which will connect Sir John Deane's College and Dock Road.
