The map, which springs from a series of liaison meetings between Cheshire County Council, Vale Royal Borough Council, and the various bus contractors, is designed to be 'user-friendly'.
The liaison committee, which drew up the map in June, has tried to make it jargon-free - so your local bus stops are mostly known by their nearest obvious landmarks, rather than by numbers or road names.
"The decision to give bus stops actual names rather than just a string of numbers was one of the first priorities of the liaison committee," explained Christine Garner, of Cheshire Bus Co-Ordinators.
"Hopefully this should make things more straightforward for bus users."
A quick glance at the new map shows some of the more useful names.
They include: Rudheath Shops, Moss Farm Playing Field, Weaverham Cricket Club, and The Blue Cap Hotel.
You can get hold of the map from the information kiosk on Watling Street, and from the Vale Royal Borough Council and Cheshire County Council offices in Northwich.
