AS a father of two, I am anxious about inappropriate activity in public places, including the toilets on Northwich Road.
Concerns about the wrongful use of the building were rightly aired.
And useful alternatives were proposed.
As a human being, I am equally anxious about the bigotry displayed in the letters' column in last week's Knutsford Guardian.
The tone of many of the (needlessly anonymous) letters, had they been directed at issues of race, creed, age or ability, would be entirely unacceptable.
Indeed, they would not have been printed.
It seems that a form of ethnic cleansing would be attractive to some.
Perhaps Martin Bell, who has seen some of the terrible effects of this, might help us in our thinking about how, as a community, we can learn to live with and accept our differences.
As to the rebuilding .. a little reflection.
If you look with distaste on those who use the toilets, just hope and pray that you are never caught short in another town.
Imagine what the locals there might think of you.

Vicar, St Cross Church
