A HUGE hedge that may have hidden burglars as they ransacked a widow's home is to be cut down.
"There should be someone round to cut the hedge within the next couple of days," said a spokesman for Macclesfield Borough Council on Monday.
The elderly widow, who now has bars over the windows of her home in Thorneyholme Drive, Knutsford, was burgled last month. She believes the thieves, who stole her jewellery, used the overgrown holly bush as the perfect cover.
"I am so happy the council are going to do something about this hedge at last," she said.
