Warrington Town 0
North Ferriby Utd 4
TWO goals from goalkeeping errors in as many minutes ended Town's hopes of a FA Cup run on Saturday.
A 5-1 drubbing of Oldham Town had left the young Town team looking bouyant but sloppy defending, coupled with a lack of penetration up front, saw the game fizzle out into heavy defeat.
There was little to chose between the teams for 25 minutes until Town 'keeper Alan Thompson miskicked a simple back pass for a corner and Paul Newman rose unchallenged to head the spot kick home.
A minute later and Flounders doubled Ferriby's advantage by heading a high ball into the net while Thompson and Steve Cartledge got in a tangle trying to make the challenge.
Kevin Tyrell wasted the best chance of the half when he failed to get on the end of Kevin Dack's excellent cross.
But Tyrell was unlucky not to win a penalty when the Ferriby 'keeper took his legs in the area as they battled for the ball.
Town had the ball in the back of the net after 65 minutes when Tyrell tucked home Berry's corner but the referee spotted a push on the 'keeper by Ian Bold.
Darren France scored Ferriby's third when he beat the off-side trap and slotted cooly past the diving Thompson into the bottom corner after 79 minutes.
Town were tiring when substitute Darren Wilson showed great skill to lob the ball over the advancing Thompson from the edge of the box five minutes from the end.
