NEW boy Scott Wilson returns to Wilderspool for the first time in 12 years on Sunday.

The 27-year-old stand off first played at the Warrington Wolves' ground in 1986 as part of an Australian schoolboys side touring the country.

Livewire Wilson, who makes his debut for the Wolves against Wigan on Sunday, said: "I can't remember the score now but I know we smashed them. I enjoyed playing at the ground and it's good to be back again. I'm looking forward to the Wigan game - if you're going to play, then you might as well play the best so it's a good place to start."

Wilson is already well travelled having had spells with South Sydney, Perth Reds, North Sydney and two periods with Canterbury Bulldogs.

He played in the 1994 Australian Grand Final with Canterbury and also appeared as substitute for New South Wales last year.

Wilson said: "Playing for New South Wales was a great experience. Being alongside guys like Glen Lazarus can only improve your game."

Groin and hernia injury problems limited him to five substitute appearances for Canterbury last year but he is now fighting fit and ready to get his career back on track.

Wilson said: "It was very frustrating because it took a long time to get the problem diagnosed properly but I want to put it all behind me and get back to playing rugby."

Wilson believes his speed and creative flair are the assets that can contribute to Warrington.

He said: "I like running with the ball and putting guys through gaps. Attacking generally is what I enjoy and seeing what I can do with the ball. That's the job Darryl has brought me over for."
