BUDDING actress Tara Peacoc Tara Peacock, aged nine, of Payne Close, Hood Manor, appeared in last week's wedding scenes in Emmerdale. All the money she earned will go to help Liam Sudworth, of Hood Lane North, Great Sankey. He suffers from learning difficulties and sensory problems and his parents, Zoe and Tim, say they hope the therapy given by a centre in Florida will improve their son's speech and concentration.

Tara caught the theatrical bug two years ago when she was on holiday in Blackpool. In her bid to help Liam, she will appear in the new series of Byker Grove and Out of Sight Three, and even got her dad, Stephen, involved when they were filmed in the Last of the Summer Wine. Every time Tara appears on TV, she presents the cast with a framed plaque as a memento to thank them for their help.

The next event to help Liam's appeal takes place at Penketh and Sankey Social Club tomorrow, Saturday.

A fun day and charity night starts at 12 noon and features a barbecue, bouncy castle, shows, stalls and an alfresco disco.
