TRANSPORT bosses have drawn up plans for a £100,000 initiative to help make Warrington's roads safer.
The town's accident blackspots will be altered to try and prevent further road smashes.
Chair of the Highway Management Sub Committee Councillor Pete Black said: "Our aim is to promote safe and sustainable transport in line with government guidelines.
"Accidents are costly to the community, although no amount of money can compensate for the pain and suffering to those close to people killed or injured in road accidents. These improvements will help cut the cost of human pain, grief and suffering."
The schemes are: the junction of Chester Road and Runcorn Road at Higher Walton; the junction of Widnes Road and Marsh Lane in Penketh; the junction of Green Lane and Holes Lane at Woolston; the junction of Hardwick Grange and Woolston Grange; the bends at Hermitage Green Lane; the A574 north of Silver Lane at Risley and the bends on Holcroft Lane in Culcheth.
