IF there is one thing that's guaranteed to get people talking - it's how much someone else takes home in their pay packet.
So it doesn't surprise me one little bit that a lot of feathers have really been ruffled about the revelations of how much some Coronation Street stars earn.
Okay, you may think that many of the actors, who earn more than the managing directors of some companies, don't deserve these salaries.
But, at the end of the day, Coronation Street is Britain's number one soap and many of the actors are working flat out to cope with hectic filming schedules.
And when you set their wages against those coined by film stars, it really doesn't seem that much at all...or does it!
I WAS smacked as a child...were you?
I reckon the rights and wrongs of this argument will roll on and on, despite the ruling by the European courts.
I would never advocate severe corporal punishment. But is a well-timed, gentle reminder to a young wrong-doer really so bad?
I'd be glad to hear your views.
Oh dear me! Those stiff-collared ultra-protocol royalists are enraged that the Queen has broken with tradition and actually autographed a football.
For goodness sake, what's wrong with that?
My only complaint is that it was for Manchester United fans and not for one of our Merseyside teams.
But can you blame me for being biased?
I HAVE refrained from getting involved too much with the on-going Bill Clinton saga on my Late Night Phone-In Show on Magic 1548.
At the end of the day, I sincerely believe it is all a matter for the president's own conscience and the American people to sort out.
But I'm sickened by the company which has cashed in and produced an 80-minute video of Clinton's testimony.
Before you part with your money, let me pose this question: Just how many of you would like your private lives examined publicly on tape?
If you answer honestly, I am convinced that sales of the tape will, rightly, be a resounding flop.
Tune in to Pete's late night phone-in from Sunday to Thursday between 10pm and1am
on Magic 1548
