Rope & Anchor 1
Halton Borough 3
HALTON continued their good start to the season with their fourth win out of four against much improved opposition.
Johnathon Evans opened the scoring with a fierce drive from 20 yards into the top left-hand corner after some fine skill and a lay off from Simon Hall.
A momentary lapse in the Halton defence let in Rope for a deserved equaliser but a thunderbolt of a shot from Simon Hall, going in off the crossbar, restored the lead just before the break.
Halton were forced to defend for most of the second period with four point-blank saves from mom, Gary Stevenson, keeping out the Rope onslaught.
Three minutes from time a solo run from Simon Hall, tucking the ball under the advancing keeper, secured the points for Halton.
Halton's B side also won with a 2-1 scoreline maintaining their 100% record.
