Helsby 1st XV 29
Liverpool Collegiate 1st XV 5
HELSBY continued their winning start gaining another South Lancs Division Three victory.
Despite a lot of first-half pressure the home side could only manage one try that coming after Mark Davies broke blind from a scrum and powered his way over from 10 yards.
Half-time 5-0.
Collegiate started the second-half more determined and were rewarded with a try in the corner to level the scores.
This then sparked Helsby back into action and they soon started to put the visitors under pressure resulting in a try when Bob Merrill picked up a pass and dummied his way into the corner.
It all then clicked into place for the home side with winger, Phil Gibson, scoring two tries, both converted by Andy Rowlinson who rounded off the scoring himself when he chipped over the home defence to follow through and touchdown in the corner.
