THE hard work paid off for pupils at Middlewich High during the school's annual prizegiving last Wednesday afternoon.
Douglas Lucas, former principal of Sir John Deane's College in Northwich, presented top of the class students with certificates to mark their achievements.
And headteacher Philip Andrews praised pupils for their progress and dedication.
Prize winners for Year Seven included: PTA Prize for Academic Excellence - Andrew Jinks, Rachael Oakes and Laura Wright; Walton Prize for Outstanding Progress - Nicola Ogden; PTA Progress Prize - Rebecca Ryder.
Year Eight: Middlewich Town Youth FC Prize for Academic Excellence - Heather Peacock; PTA Academic Prizes - Jenny White and Laura McShane; Winsford and Middlewich Rotary Club Prize for Progress - Amy Howard; PTA Progress Prize - Kelly Ainsworth.
Year Nine: Winsford and Middlewich Rotary Club Prize for Academic Excellence - Kelly Burgess; Dorothy Roberts Prize for English - Kelly Burgess; Joyce Hooper Prize for Mathematics - Richard Evers; GMA Garnet UK Ltd Prize for Science - Kelly Burgess; Winsford and Middlewich Rotary Club prize for Progress - Daniel Kay; PTA Prize for Progress - Michael Johnson.
Year 10: Winsford and Middlewich Rotary Club Prize for Academic Excellence - Andrew Sellors; PTA Prize for Academic Excellence - Ben Wood and Charlotte Smith; Winsford and Middlewich Rotary Club Prize for Progress - Lisa Hitchen; PTA Prize for Progress - Lias Gray.
Year Seven, Eight and Nine prizes were presented by head of lower school, Miss Kappes and the presentation of Year 11 prizes was made by Mrs Shaw.
The ceremony ended with a speech by head boy Andrew Sellors.
