Castleford outfit Glasshoughton beat Salford 3-1 in the last round - but officials found out they had fielded an ineligible 'keeper.
So Salford, of the North West Counties Premier Division, found themselves back in the competition, to the delight of Witton boss Peter Ward.
His friend Ray Walker manages Newcastle Town who played Salford last Saturday - and assistant Martin Smith has given Ward a dossier about his side's next opponents.
"It's going to be difficult because they're the underdogs looking for a shock," said Ward. "But we're confident and we know a win might give us a nice tie against a Conference club in the next round and some valuable extra income."
Before last night's match, Scott Brenchley was Ward's only injury doubt. But he is likely to recover from knee ligament problems in time for Saturday.
Ward is still trying to tempt Aidan Callan to Wincham Park. Ironically the left-sided Leek Town man is a friend of Ray Walker and could move to Newcastle instead.
Witton's board meanwhile has confirmed that Club Steward Phil Coombes has left Wincham Park "by mutual consent".
The directors have also quashed rumours that the Wittoners Club is not open.
"The social club is doing very well at the moment," said a spokesman.
