For a few minutes they led Stourbridge, the first time they have been in front all season.

But in the end, the outcome was the same, thanks to some poor first half defending and some disputed refereeing in the closing stages.

Things got off to a terrible start when Stourbridge retrieved their own kick-off and powered forward for an unconverted try with less than a minute gone.

Stourbridge doubled their lead after 10 minutes when they won a line out five metres from the Park line and the forwards drove over once again.

To their credit, Park refused to buckle and dominated the next 20 minutes, being rewarded with an excellent Nick Yardley try after good line-out work from Danny Haddock.

But right from the kick-off poor defence allowed the home side to score their third try and go into the break with a 15-5 lead.

But Winnington hit back after half-time, grabbing two tries to go two points ahead.

Phil Aitken scored the first, rounding off a good handling move by outpacing the home defence.

The second came when Park recycled the ball after a brilliant run by Mark Patterson and Yardley scored his second try, Phil Shaw converting.

Park's lead was short-lived. Stourbridge went back ahead through a penalty after being given the advantage and then scored a try, which was converted, when their visitors were denied the advantage.

Park fought valiantly to get back into the match but Stourbridge had the last word, scoring an unconverted try in the last minute to seal a flattering winning margin of 13 points.
