Within minutes, the Bulls conceded a penalty which Rangers' player coach Mike Redman converted from 20 yards.

The Bulls' first try came in the corner on five minutes, after they broke the Rangers line out wide.

Rangers responded by moving the ball 80 yards in five straight tackles, leading to a try close to the posts after Jason Crabtree collected from Dave Gray. Mike Redman converted.

Battling tries from Butler and Bebbington, and two Redman conversions, gave Rangers an 18-4 half-time lead.

The Bulls opened the second half with a coverted try, but the teamwork of Butler and Gray outclassed them, Gray securing the next try under the posts. Neil Partington raced in from 25 yards to score the try of the match.

Simon Platt's dismissal for a high tackle reduced Rangers to 10 men, but the reshuffle saw the comeback of Mike McGeever, on for the first time in three years after a serious knee injury.

McGeever's marauding run set up Crabtree for a try close to the posts, making Rangers comfortable winners.

An inspired second half showing from Rangers brought them victory over Woolston on Saturday.

Down 10-0 after 20 minutes, Rangers' comeback was sparked by John Millington's improvised try. Crabtree followed suit, and Redman's conversion made it 12-10 at half-time.

Tries from Hand, Crabtree, Creeney and Davies, and two from Hughes, sealed the match 48-10.

Rangers face Latchford in the Warrington Cup final today, Wednesday, and the second team play Widnes St Mary's at Weaverham High School on Saturday, kick-off 2.30pm.
