It will take place next Thursday, October 8 at 7pm at the Methodist Church Hall, Weaverham Road, Sandiway.

DCI Peter Rigby, in charge of the case, said: "The idea is to get people together who frequent the Kennel Lane area because there have been numerous sitings of people and vehicles that need to be eliminated.

"We are appealing for all dog walkers and anyone who visits the area to come along so we can publicly address them, go through descriptions and bounce ideas about.

"Hopefully it will mean some good feedback.

"And there will also be a crime prevention officer at the meeting to offer advice to people on personal safety.

"This meeting is rather an unusual step - I can't think of another case where we've called a public meeting."

Police are also appealing for a man who anonymously rang the drugs hotline in Crewe at 6.24pm on Friday, September 18. He gave some intersting information and police are urging him, and any other people who have information, to contact them at the murder incident room by ringing 01244 613298.

And there will be an update on the murder on BBC's Crimewatch programme next Tuesday, October 6.

This follows the programme three weeks ago which showed a reconstruction of 52-year-old Mrs Webb as she walked her pet Labrador in Kennel Lane - and resulted in 100 calls from the public.
