CONSERVATIONIST Kelly Sproston is to jet off for the adventure of a lifetime after the success of a fund-raising drive.
Kelly, aged 21, is to spend two months in Belize working on conservation projects as part of a trip run by a charity.
Kelly, from Johnson Close, Congleton, leaves for Belize on October 7, a trip for which she has raised £2,600 in just 10 months.
The conservation project is being staged by the International Scientific Support Trust, which asked each volunteer taking part to raise £2,800.
Kelly won grants from Congleton Rotary Club, Lions Club, Round Table, and Congleton Town Council.
She also staged numerous fund-raisers including a sponsored swim, car boot sales and a stall at the Congleton Carnival.
Kelly is still £200 short of her target, and has sold 370 tickets for a raffle which was due to be drawn at Congleton information centre on Saturday, the first prize being a weekend in Lake District.
"I'm really excited about the trip, which will include a month in the rainforest building boundaries and shelters for wardens,'' she said.
"We will also be trekking through jungle for a week, and spending three weeks on an island doing conservation work.''
There are some raffle tickets left, and for details ring 281077.
