HAIR stylist Kimerley Williams is in line to become the UK's trendsetter at a national final in London.
Kimberley, aged 21, competes this month at Wembley exhibition centre for the title of the Young Trendsetter of the Year.
She also stands to win £1,000 at the finals, which whittled down 20 top young stylists from thousands of entrants.
Kimberley, from East Drive, Biddulph, is a senior stylist at Sophisticut hairdressing salon in Gillow Heath, which is owned by Liz Capostagno.
She won through to the final with a bob style she created for Gill Ferns, from Biddulph, an apprentice hairdresser at the salon, being asked by the judges to send in a photograph of the 16-year-old.
"I began screaming when I found out I was in the final,'' said Kimberley.
"I created a very textured blond bob for Gill with red flashes, but did not expect to be a finalist.''
The salon will be closing for the day to allow Liz and her staff to travel to London to cheer on Kimberley, who will be given an hour to recreate Gill's special look before an audience of thousands.
"It is a major competition, and it's such an achievement to get this area acknowledged,'' said Liz.
The picture of Gill was taken by Liz's dad Geoffrey Brammer, who used to teach photography.
