Council A PANEL to investigate pollution issues in the borough may be set up by Halton Council.
The pollution panel would meet to discuss when it is necessary to deal with problems arising from industrial sites.
Each meeting would deal with one company, apart from in exceptional circumstances.
Members of the Council's Environmental Health and Consumer Protection Committee will discuss the idea of the panel at its next meeting this week.
The panel would be made up of the chairman, vice-chairman and three committee members, and representatives of the Environment Agency will be requested to attend on certain occasions.
The panel would also be useful for updating authorisations of sites under the Environmental Protection Act.
It also forms part of the Council's Air Quality Management Strategy which aims to improve the environment and quality of life in Halton.
