A WIDNES man suffered serious spinal injuries in a motorcycle accident at Newton-le-Wilows on Wednesday night.
The man, who has not been identified, was travelling along an unlit section of the Parkside Road and was trying to take a left-hand bend.
But his front wheel hit the opposite bend and he was flung from his motorbike into a nearby field. A passing motorist found him and alerted the emergency services.
The injured man was taken to Warrington Hospital, where his condition is described as comfortable.
Merseyside Traffic Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Call 0151-777 6707.
