Lymm 37

Percy Park 18

LYMM Rugby Union club produced their best form of the season so far against a lively Percy Park side.

Park took an early lead when the Lymm defence was caught napping.

The Lymm reply was immediate when captain Jim Fergusson made good ground and Matt Monaghan finished off the move with a try converted by Chris Elliott.

Park regained the lead with a penalty but Lymm applied the pressure and were rewarded with two penalty goals by C. Elliott for a half-time lead of 13-10.

The game could have gone either way until Lymm's Rob Berry stamped his authority on the game with his constant probing and cajoling.

Bower finished off a swift handling move with a try before Berry, chasing a lost cause, grounded the ball for a try inches before it ran out dead.

Park's experienced county player Carr set up a try in reply before man of the match Berry popped up for his second and substitute Simon Cockayne scored in injury time.

Elliott converted both to round off a deserved win.

The fifths beat Eccles fouths 12-10.

Lymm will ring the changes when they travel to Northumberland to take on Alnwick on Saturday.

Rob James moves to centre, Andy Holloway claims the right wing spot and Paul McGuire takes over at hooker as the side look for their first away win.
