TWO Warrington workers swapped civvy street for Army life with two weeks of mock battle in the Norfolk countryside.
Territorial Army members, Tatjana Wright, aged 25 and David Hancox, aged 35, both corporals with the 5/8th Battalion the King's Regiment, spent an exhausting training session practising the manoeuvres of urban warfare.
The battalion's Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel David Richardson, praised the adventurous duo. He said: "The soldiers have worked extremely hard throughout the exercise and constantly displayed the commitment, enthusiasm and professionalism that is characteristic of the Territorial Army."
Tatjana, of Birchwood, works at the Captain's Table in Padgate when not on duty. She has just completed a six month tour of Bosnia with an Army medical unit providing assistance at a busy hospital.
David, of Orford, is a seasoned Territorial professional. During the week he manages the pipe shop at Wasey Exhausts in Warrington. But at weekends he becomes the Echelon Detachment Commander with the Signals platoon, responsible for establishing and maintaining Army communications.
