A RECORD turnover of £56.6m and best ever pre-tax profits of £3.6m have been announced by Middlewich-based construction firm Pochin for the financial year.
The Brooks Lane company has revealed that profits are up by 33 per cent and turnover has increased by 18 per cent.
Chairman Nicholas Pochin says that the success of the company is down to long-term relationships with both the public and private sector, giving a solid base for significant repeat business.
He explained: "I am pleased that our reputation for quality workmanship and customer care has enabled us to win business with prestigious new clients.
"During the second half of the year we were able to take advantage of the healthy climate for industrial and commercial development, resulting in the sale of a number of properties which contributed significantly to our results.
"I am pleased to see the contribution made to our results from our established joint ventures.
"We have worked hard, both on our own account and with our joint venture partners, to increase our level of development activity but, as always, these schemes take a considerable investment in time and effort to bring to fruitition."
Mr Pochin added: "The current year has enjoyed a solid start and we can look forward to the future with every confidence."
