I HAVE noticed that the Halloween masks and costumes are already on display in shops around Winsford even though the dreaded day is still a month away.

It seems that the commercial build up to the events we celebrate begins earlier and earlier each year and just what is the point of that?

Trick and treaters start on their rounds as soon as October begins, as do the firework freaks who roam the streets with bangers and rockets terrorising everybody.

Before you know Santa's out with his pixies and we're not even in the middle of November.

I ask you, what's the world coming to?
