That is the day the final payment must be agreed with creditors to pay off the club's debts.

If the creditors are unhappy with the financial package they are to receive, then the club will be put up for sale.

For the time being, Chairman Tom Shaw is keeping his cards close to his chest.

He said: "The problem at the moment is that I just don't know what's going to happen.

"Until the liquidator comes back to me and tells me what the word is from the creditors I am as anxious as the fans."

He added: "All I can really say at this stage is that I am confident. The situation is very complicated."

On the footballing side, manager Peter Ward has admitted being disappointed by the FA Cup draw. Albion have been drawn away to Frickley Colliery for the third qualifying round on Saturday week.

Ward said: "To be honest I would have preferred a big tie or a home match.

"But, looking on the bright side, it gives us a realistic chance of progressing to the first round proper."

Before that match Witton face two league games, the first this Saturday at home to Bradford Park Avenue, with the boss warning against complacency after Witton let their guard down on Saturday and conceded two goals in a minute.

He added: "I launched into the lads a bit at half-time during the Salford game because they allowed the opposition to get back into the match.

"The second-half was much more professional and hopefully it will be a lesson learned."

The chase for Leek's Aidann Callan continues, while Runcorn striker Joey Dunn is high on Ward's wanted list.
