Gaynor Trafford, known for her campaigning against the second runway, hopes to stand for election in May.
"Lately I have been campaigning against Runway Two but this is not the only problem for people around here," said Mrs Trafford, of Carlisle Close, Mobberley.
"People have got to realise what big businesses are doing to the countryside and unless people protest they're just going to cover Britain in concrete."
The 45-year-old mother-of-two, who works in a local school, has already received encouragement from Tatton MP Martin Bell about her hopes to stand.
Mrs Trafford believes a Green councillor would help to improve the quality of life
