He hopes his Knutsford People exhibition at the Studio in Minshull Street will show the human face of his home town.
"There is this image of a stuck-up town," said Dan, of Acacia Avenue. "But underneath you can walk down the street and see ordinary people. It's made up of a whole network of normal folk - people who do a normal day's work."
Many of the faces in the portraits will be familiar to Knutsfordians, but some are strangers even to Dan.
Next month the 18-year-old Stockport College student appears on Masterclass, a TV programme showcasing the country's young artistic talent.
His break came after he accompanied another young Knutsford hopeful, saxophonist Rose Quaye, to the TV studios.
He started snapping inside the studio, the producer saw his pictures and he was signed up to appear.
Knutsford's People runs from October 7 to October 15.
Dan appears on Masterclass on November 29.
