ANOTHER Halton pensioner was conned this week when a burglar tricked his way into a Runcorn flat by posing as a water board official.
The man entered the house at Churchill Mansions on Friday afternoon and made away with cash, a pension book and other property, total value £180.
This latest incident bears similarities to a couple in Widnes and Hough Green last month where a pair of men targeted pensioner's houses by posing as water board workers.
While one distracted the elderly person by pretending to be a water board workman come to switch off the supply, his accomplice slipped into the house and stole goods.
The criminals made away with hundreds of pounds worth of personal possessions, prompting Widnes CID to issue warnings about the dangers of conmen.
