BICC Helsby 6

West Kirby 0

BICC Helsby, who this summer amalgamated with Runcorn senior cup winners Bridge Athletic, continued their 100% start to the season with a 6-0 demolition of West Kirby in the Cheshire Amateur Cup, First Round.

Gary Tyrell opened the scoring finishing off a slick four-man move from close-range.

Kevin Jacques then got in on the act, rounding the keeper just before half-time.

The second-half was barely a few minutes old when Tyrell made the game safe with an inspired piece of skill. Controlling a pass on his chest, he lifted the ball over his marker with his left foot before crashing an unstoppable right foot volley just under the bar from fully 30 yards.

Graeme Jacques then skipped past the keeper for the fourth, before Tony Morrell chipped a cheeky fifth.

Geoff Tan completed the scoring with a powerful finish.

Russell Whitehead earned the mom award with a calm display at the back.

Carlsberg West Cheshire League manager of the month was Frank Cannon.
