HIGHFLYING Alsager have gone clear at the top of the league after another convincing victory on Saturday.
Cheadle Old Boys were the latest scalps for the table-topping side, who won 2-0 at home to go three points clear.
Cheadle started well, but Alsager got into their stride and took the lead on the half hour.
A corner was whipped to the far post, where Ben Biddulph drilled home a deflected shot.
Howwever the home fans had to wait until the 60th minute for their side to make the game safe.
Another corner was half cleared to the edge of the 18-yard box, where left back Mick Dale cracked home a superb shot into the top corner of the net.
Wayne Brotherton narrowly failed to get his name on the scoresheet late on when he saw his left-foot shot fly just wide.
"We were pretty much on top, and I was happy with what was a good performance,'' said Alsager boss Steve Booth.
"We have not conceded a goal for nine hours, and the lads are all doing really well.''
