Lymm 2nd 29
Aspull 2nd 5
LYMM'S second string had the chance to impress first team coach Steve Rule on Saturday.
And they showed their intentions from the kick-off, running the ball at every opportunity.
Back rowers Charlie Osborne and Craig Pinnegar scored tries before winger Blackmore, making a welcome return, scored and converted a try.
Most pleasing aspect in a game that turned out to be more of a training session for Lymm was the return to something like full fitness of scrum half Nick Harris and ex-captain John Millachip following horrendous broken leg injuries.
The Rowe brothers enjoyed the freedom of the park with length of the field interpassing moves to give Millachip and Roy Wilson a try apiece.
The fourth team fought bravely against Helsby seconds but ran out of steam to lose 19-0.
The Veterans beat their Manchester peers 32-5 thanks to tries from Keri Anderson, John Parr, Graham Bird, Steve Grace, Jimmy Borthwick and Liam O'Callaghan.
