BOTH teams deserve credit for an entertaining game which could have gone either way in a game of two halves.

In the first-half Windmill Hill piled on the pressure using the obvious advantage of playing downhill on a sloping pitch.

But for all the effort and some good Beechwood defending could only score one goal, a deflected shot from Phillip Bryan.

Half-time 0-1.

After half-time the tables were turned as the downhill advantage became Beechwoods, but some top quality saves by goalkeeper David McClennan and an outstanding display from the three Windmill Hill centrebacks Thomas Scooller, James Hilton and James Kane kept Beechwood out.

It wasn't until 10 minutes from the end that Windmill Hill's resistance finally cracked after constant Beechwood pressure.

A shot from wide of the area went into the to corner of the net and a very unlucky handball in the penalty area which gave Beechwood a penalty, which they duly converted.

Overall a superb display from both teams for a final score of 2-1.

Mom, Adam Marsh.

Brookvale u12s 1 Windmill Hill u12s 3

WINDMILL HILL u12s juniors completed a fine league double over Brookvale Jnrs with an excellent team performance which resulted in a 3-1 away victory.

Windmill had the better start and went on to dominate the first-half.

They went ahead after 20 minutes when Danny Lee scored after some excellent build-up work.

In the second-half Windmill Hill continued to dictate the play, Chris Boothman and Danny Fisher were constantly breaking down Brookvale's attacks and creating chances for their forwards.

After 10 minutes of the second-half Paul Holmes' pass found Danny Lee unmarked in the box, he calmly beat the advancing keeper to make the score 2-0.

Shortly afterwards Windmill Hill made it 3-0, Ryan Brooks floated the ball into the goalmouth from a corner and Paul Holmes was first to react to fire the ball in to the net.

Brookvale got back in to the game when one of their forwards scored a fine solo goal, but it came too late to make a significant impact on the result.

C Turner Cup Quarter-Finals

IN a very poor first-half by a 10 man Windmill Hill side in which they were down 6-0 down, hopes were high that they would make a game of it.

This was not to be.

Although they did have a five minute spell in which they scored their goal through Garath Langley, Norton deservedly ran out 10-1 winners.

IN a game in which both sides had two players sent off and numerous bookings, you could be forgiven for thinking this was a dirty game.

This is in fact was not the case.

On a heavy pitch both teams were very committed from the start.

Windmill Hill were playing some good football which kept the pressure on Weston Point's defence.

This paid off after 15 minutes when Windmill Hill forced a corner from which Robert Powell rose superbly to head Windmill Hill in to the lead.

As the half went on it became more difficult to keep playing good football on a pitch that was cutting up.

Weston Point looked dangerous on the break but were kept bay with some very good defending.

A nice ball from midfield allowed Rhys Perrett a run on goal and with defenders in hot pursuit the finished well for a half-time score of 2-0.

The second-half was much the same as the first.

Adam Rogers scored with a fine near post header for Windmill Hill's third.

Dennis Jones had an excellent game at right-back with some surging runs and solid defending.

With no further scoring the game finished for a final scoreline of 3-0.
