Helsby 1st XV 45
Douglas 1st XV 24
HELSBY inflicted Douglas to their heaviest defeat of the season and gained revenge for last week's result in the Isle Of Man.
Helsby were all fired up from the start and made the perfect opening when Matty Ryder raced in for a 25 yard try.
Douglas soon replied back with a penalty but following a break by Paul Taylor the full-back then passed out to Rowlinson who then had Gordon Lilley in support to score in the corner.
Helsby then came out even more determined in the second-half and within 15 minutes had increased the lead to 38-3.
Firstly captain J Williams burst through a gap in the defence to score and then Mark Davies added a try which Phil Catterall converted.
Scrum-half Bob Merrill then ended up on the score sheet dummying his way over from 20 yards, Phil Catterall converting before Andy Rowlinson finished off Douglas with two tries all converted by Phil Catterall.
The visitors then hit back with three tries in 10 minutes but it was too late.
