A WOMAN suffered serious injuries in a traffic accident on the Bridgewater Expressway when her car veered across the road and was involved in a head-on collision with another.
Firefighters had to cut Margaret Parry from her Ford Fiesta after it had swerved across the road and collided with a Honda Accord driven by Runcorn man Giuilio Zancudi last Tuesday evening.
The cause of the accident, which occurred near to the Astmoor slip road at 5.55pm, is not yet known.
Mrs Parry, from Runcorn, was taken to Whiston Hospital with serious injuries. They are not life-threatening.
Mr Zancudi was taken to Halton Hospital but was discharged following a check-up.
