A NEW internet service which enables local companies to share information and business ideas was launched by the Middlewich-based South and East Cheshire TEC, last week.

The new system, TECextranet, is a private network which allows member companies and partners with internet access to become part of a business communications forum.

It can be accessed from the newly designed TEC web site - www.sectec.co.uk - and provides members with an up to the minute news service.

TECextranet provides immediate access to the TEC's latest research, links to essential commercial and Government information and advance notice of events.

And it will also provide opportunities for interactive participation and an on-line dialogue, from product and manufacturing enquiries to best practice ideas and specialist advice.

Member companies with a computer, modem and the internet will be able to gain immediate access and help to contribute to the development of TEC services by responding with comments, questions and suggestions.

Both members and non-members can try out TECextranet for themselves until March 31 by simply entering 'guest' in the name box and 'tecnet' in the password box.

But access will require a registered password from April 1, which will be notified to members in advance.
