THE 20th annual Kops & Kids event - a police and youth entertainment extravaganza - is to be staged at Winsford Civic Hall on March 7 and 8.

Six schools are taking part this year - Oaklands Special School, Wimboldsley Primary, Grange Primary, High Street Primary, Verdin High and Woodford Lodge.

Last year Kops & Kids was a complete sell-out with thousands of people coming to see the show and so people are being encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

It is hoped that tickets will be on sale from Monday, February 15.

The two comperes for the night are Signal Radio's Lee Thomas, of Middlewich, and singer Emma Burrows.

Police acts include Sgt Howard Davidson, acoustic guitarist, and saxophone player PC Guy Lister.

PC Pete Dutton, one of the Kops & Kids organisers, said: "Last year we had to turn about 300 people away because both nights were a sell out.

"We will let people in with tickets first and if there are still some seats left will will be able to sell tickets on the door.

"All profits from the night will go to the Police Community Involvement fund so all the money goes back into the community of Vale Royal.

"This year's show is going to be superb. It's a special one because it's been 20 years since we first started Kops & Kids.

"To name a few acts, Oaklands will be creating a circus, High Street will be performing the Pied Piper and Wimboldsley will be singing songs from the 70s."

Tickets will be available from the participating schools and The Winsford & Middlewich Guardian Office, 68, High Street, Winsford. Performances for Kops & Kids will start at 7pm.
