Premier Division rivals Oaklands inflicted the 1-0 home defeat on Tavern to end their double hopes. The goal came in dramatic fashion, Alex Maxwell netting with four minutes left on the clock.

There was double misery for Tavern, who also conceded top spot in the league after Denbigh won 4-2 at home against Broken Cross.

Tavern are now one point clear at the top, although they have four games in hand.

As for Oaklands, they face another tough away fixture this weekend when they travel to Denbigh in the league.

In Division One bottom club White Swan Athletic were soundly beaten at home, 10-0 by division leaders Cuddington.

Littlemore and Rogers were both on target four times for the visitors, who maintained their two point lead over Dragon Oakfield as a result.

There was another impressive away victory in Division Three where Knutsford White Bear leaped above their Middlewich namesakes to take second spot in the table thanks to an 8-0 win over FC Bulls Head.

They are now one point behind leaders Freemasons Arms with one game in hand.

There were no major surprises in Division Two, where all the fixtures went to form. FC Knights Grange moved 14 points clear of Red Lion (Pickmere), who didn't have a fixture, after winning 2-0 at FC Wharf.

Elsewhere, Weaverham YCOB recorded the biggest win of the day in the division, beating bottom club Rudheath SC 4-0.
