PLANS for a 40-bedroom hotel lodge beside the Eight Towers pub were rejected this week by Halton councillors.
Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries wanted to build a two-storey development on grassed open space between Weates Close and Dans Road.
Councillors turned down the application on Monday because it failed to comply with the council policy on protecting urban green space.
Earlier planning applications for a travel lodge and an electricity sub-station on the same site have been refused.
