KNYPERSLEY Vics came down to earth after their first away win by going down to a late winner on Saturday against highflying opponents.

The Vics took a 24th minute lead at home to Boldmere St Michael, but were sunk by two goals, the second coming 12 minutes from time.

Knypersley had an excellent chance to take an early lead against the third-placed visitors when Redgate was brought down in the area in the third minute.

However James crashed his penalty against the post, and from the rebound the Vics shot wide.

Five minutes late Redgate drilled in a shot, which the keeper allowed to spill out of his hands, and James following up fired wide.

Knypersley took the lead when Redgate left fly with a shot, which took a deflection before crashing into the corner of the net.

Boldmere went close on the half hour, and drew level in their next attack when their centre back crossed for a player to fire into the roof of the net.

In front of the Vics' biggest crowd of the season Boldmere went close again on 70 minutes when a shot just cleared the bar.

Eight minutes later the away side scored the winner when a ball played in from the right caught the Vics' defence out, and a player nipped in to side foot home at the near post.

The Vics brought on Giblin and Kinsey to try and snatch a point, and went desperately close on 80 minutes when a cross cum shot by Dutton skimmed the bar.
