GREEN-FINGERED Congleton GUARDIAN readers have the chance to enjoy the UK's top gardening show by entering this week's competition.

We have three pairs of tickets for the 1999 BBC Gardeners' World Live show at the NEC in Birmingham.

The event runs from June 16 to 20, with this year's theme being Gardens of the World, taking in exotic flora and garden architecture, vibrant costumes and dance and music from across the globe.

Alan Titchmarsh, pictured above, will be among the gardening stars offering tips and handy hints at a celebrity theatre, and there will also be quizzes, garden makeovers and demonstrations.

To stand a chance of winning a pair of tickets, which are valid for any day and cost £14 each, answer the following question.

What is the theme of this year's show at the NEC?

Send your answer, on a postcard, with your name, address and daytime telephone number, to Congleton Guardian, 21a West Street, by February 12, and usual Newsquest rules apply.
