WARRINGTON people are being urged to make 1999 a green year.

'Planet Pledge 2000' is an environmental campaign run by the 'Going for Green' charity. Organisers are hoping millions of people will send in their environmental pledges for '99 and make a small change to their lifestyle.

David Smith, Regional Director of 'Going for Green', said: "'Planet Pledge 2000' will help remind us all how making the smallest effort - like fitting a water saving device inside the toilet cistern, installing low energy light bulbs, composting waste or recycling - really can make the world of difference."

Everyone in the region who makes a pledge will see their name displayed as part of a national exhibit called 'Pathway to the 21st Century'.

You can make your pledge by calling 0870 9090 800 or by visiting www.gfg.iclnet.co.uk.
