A WARRINGTON disability expert has spoken out about the sacking of former England coach Glen Hoddle.
Dave Thompson, a wheelchair user and Disability Services Advisor for Warrington Community Health Care Trust, says he understands that everyone has their own opinion, but feels Hoddle was wrong to speak out publicly.
"A person in his position should keep his opinions to himself," said Dave.
"It's very sad. He was a great footballer and coach, so he should stick to what he's good at."
But Dave hopes the storm of protest at Hoddle's remarks will have positive repercussions.
He added: "It has raised awareness of the disabled.
"This is the time Ministers should look at the inequalities disabled people face and utilise this unfortunate situation."
